Exploring SENSURE vision inspection systems with in-line testing during normal production

NEWS / 14 June 2024

Thanks to the self-learning approach of SENSURE SYNAPSE, it is possible to conduct tests directly in-line using dedicated equipment, all with extremely short setup times.

Discover the potential of vision inspection systems on your production line with SENSURE SYNAPSE

Do you want to see the potential of vision inspection systems directly on your production line? Are you familiar with vision technologies but want to experience the self-learning approach of SENSURE SYNAPSE? Within less than two hours of our arrival at your facility, we will be able to show you, with our demo unit, how SENSURE technology can help you identify non-compliant products and support continuous process improvement. All this without you being an expert in vision inspection systems!

The demo unit is equipped with a 2D camera to identify defects in shape, color, and size, and a laser profilometer for 3D measurements (thickness, planarity, etc.). If necessary, other vision technologies such as SWIR and thermal cameras can be added.

The unit, after being assembled close to the line, is placed directly on the floor and positioned close to the conveyor during normal production. With this unit, products can be inspected over a width of approximately 400mm from the conveyor's side where unit is placed. Once the system is positioned, a brief calibration of the vision components is required: after this activity, the in-line demo begins, showing the various functionalities and potentials of the SENSURE vision insepction systems and SENSURE SYNAPSE AI-based software (LEARN function directly in-line, defect detection capabilities, dashboard tools, data analytics functions, etc.). The demo unit can then be moved to other points along the line to test its capabilities throughout the entire production process. During the tests, the different company functions can be involved (operators, quality managers, process technologists, continuous improvement engineers, engineering and maintenance functions, etc.). At the end of the tests, a dedicated report on the activities carried out is also prepared.

What information is needed before the visit and what is required to conduct in-line tests?

  • Dimensions of the line where the tests will be conducted and information about the conveyor (color and type of belt, etc.)
  • Electrical connection to power the system
  • Table to place the keyboard, monitor, mouse, and processing unit

In addition to in-line tests, SENSURE can conduct tests on your products at our laboratory, also providing a dedicated report on the activities carried out.
